From Nowhere investigates the act of seeing in the age of automation. Executed by autonomous agents, it explores the use of satellite imagery and virtual cartography as tools of observation, registration, and cataloging.

In the digital era, our perception of space is constantly reshaped by technological systems. This project examines how each fragment of the map is captured, analyzed, and decontextualized offering a critical revisitation of the world through non human eyes.

Inspired by and paying tribute to the works “I Met” and “I Went” by On Kawara (河原温, Kawara On; December 24, 1932 – July 10, 2014), From Nowhere reimagines the practice of mapping through a detached and procedural lens. Unstated presents an impersonal journey through virtual landscapes, in which locations and human traces are catalogued analytically.

An autonomous agent, programmed to navigate and interact with vast archives of satellite data, operates as a digital explorer. The result is a continuous performance across virtual territories: at once systematic, abstract, and strangely intimate.

Leonardo Angelucci is a Swiss-Italian graphic designer and coder. He founded UNSTATED, a creative studio based in Zurich and Ticino, where he collaborates with a wide array of national and international clients, focusing mainly on projects within the cultural and art and institutional field.

Sabrina Cerea worked for a few years at ma.x. museo and at Spazio Officina of Centro Culturale Chiasso. In 2016, she returned to Lugano to work for Studio Juma, Balerna, and then for CCRZ Studio, Balerna. Moving to Zurich, she began running her own studio, UNSTATED, with Leonardo Angelucci.
