ID_75

ID_75 is a photography-based project that emerges from autobiographical research focused on uncovering the hidden—both in the physical spaces of my hometown and in the layers of memory and emotion these spaces evoke. Developed through repeated visits to my hometown, ID_75 confronts feelings of both familiarity and estrangement. Each visit became an opportunity to face the repressed and forgotten, allowing me to reflect on memories of past events and the people who influenced my life, from a certain distance. Rather than adopting a traditional documentary approach, I employ staging, using locations as catalysts for emotional and visual associations. Objects in my photographs serve as markers of personal micro-history, symbolizing memories I reintroduce into the physical space from a psychological one. This allows me to explore both the transformative potential of examining my past and a deeper understanding of lived experiences. While personal, ID_75 invites broader social interpretations, offering a "collage" of fragments and traces that open multiple layers of meaning. The project encourages viewers to recognize their own emotional reactions, positioning personal history within a wider social dialogue. Ultimately, ID_75 invites viewers to see, feel, and recognize the importance of revealing personal intimacy by positioning the medium of photography as a tool for personal and collective insight. By bringing hidden personal stories to light, ID_75 offers viewers the chance to confront their own emotional landscapes and reflect on the connections between the personal and the collective.
