Since 2012, FOMU annually selects ten upcoming photographers from and/ or based in Belgium. It is the start of a year-long mentorship programme that includes the portfolio magazine .tiff, an exhibition, conversations with experts, talks and presentations. Its aim? To support photographers of all ages at an early stage in their career. FOMU uses its platform to give the participants national and international visibility, guides them in navigating the photography world and offers them space to experiment and reflect.

For the selection, FOMU reaches out to its network of Belgian photography experts and previous participants. They are all asked to nominate three photographers. This leads to a longlist of photographers from diverse fields and backgrounds. With its final selection of ten photographers, FOMU strives to show the breadth of Belgian photography.
