In this series the concept of the ‘unfinished’ is approached as a non-negative phase, where youth finds joy in creation and new life experiences. Simultaneously, it links the anxiety of completion and the torment of success to a fundamental human need: creating a home. This work finds its roots in the photographer’s memories of his childhood. The foundation of those recollections lies in his family’s efforts to construct their home through a combination of physical labor and unwavering determination. Furthermore, Lois delves into the challenges faced while navigating the demanding task of searching for a home in the current era, consequently the contemporary housing crisis.
