Mateusz Pecyna is a Polish visual artist working with installation, moving image, objects and sound. His practice explores how technological systems and environmental stress reshape contemporary culture, especially through regimes of visibility, interfaces and synthetic forms of nature. Rather than treating technology as a neutral tool, he approaches it as a cultural agent: something that produces aesthetics, behaviours and power relations. Combining research with speculative narration, he builds layered situations that test the boundaries between documentary evidence and constructed scenarios.
Pecyna holds an MA in Photography and Multimedia from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Poland. He has presented work widely in solo and group exhibitions in Poland and internationally, across museums and festival contexts. He currently participates in the international Heritage Lens programme, focusing on how climate change and environmental catastrophe reorganise cultural heritage, public imaginaries and the conditions of living. He was awarded the Artistic Scholarship of the City of Łódź (2025).

Ilias Lois (b. Athens) is an artist whose work considers the notion of home, life in European urban centers, and the materiality of objects and technologies. His practice pays particular attention to the act of translating the three-dimensional world into two-dimensional surfaces—and the reverse process that may follow. He is especially drawn to photographic sequencing and the possibilities of non-linear storytelling. In the summer of 2024, he earned a Master’s degree in Photography: Research and Methodology from UniWA. He contributes to photography education as a tutor at the Hellenic Centre of Photography and Paper Drop Lab (founder), where he leads project development and experimental curation workshops. He is also an editor at Velvet Eyes, an online photography magazine. On the recommendation of the publishing house Void, he became Future Talent ’24.
Thérèse Anna Rafter (b. 1989, Dublin, Ireland) is an artist and researcher working
across photography and installation. Her practice investigates how the living world
is mediated within Western visual culture, with particular attention to institutional
modes of representation and display. Engaging critically with the legacies of natural
history, museum practices, and photographic visual regimes, Rafter’s work explores
the boundaries through which human–animal–land relations are constructed and
maintained.
Characterised by a measured tension between restraint and sensitivity, her work is
articulated through a rigorous analogue approach to material, form, and production.
By foregrounding processes of framing, preservation, and visibility, Rafter
challenges anthropocentric ways of seeing and considers how knowledge of
nonhuman life is produced and encountered.
Rafter holds a BA in Photography and completed an MA in Visual Arts in 2024. She
is currently undertaking a research Master’s at Sint Lucas School of Arts, Antwerp,
Belgium.
Peter Pflügler (b. 1987) is an Austrian visual storyteller based in the Netherlands. He holds a BA in Photography from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague. Pflügler’s work centres on the dynamics of secrets, intergenerational trauma and silence. With the help of photography, video and text, he aims to resurrect the unseen, the unknown and the hidden. His Now is not the right time project has been shown at numerous festivals and exhibitions throughout Europe, whilst the dummy was nominated for several international prizes, including the Kassel Dummy Award.Website: peterpflugler.com
After working for several years as an Art Director, Thomas Albdorf studied Transmedia Art at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, where he graduated in 2013. He was selected as an international “Artists to Watch” by British Journal of Photography in 2014; he won the UNSEEN Amsterdam Talent Award in 2016. He had institutional solo shows at FOAM Amsterdam (NL) and Museum Folkwang (DE), and his work has been exhibited throughout galleries in Europe & the United States. He has been featured in and interviewed for magazines like FOAM Magazine, British Journal of Photography, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, Wallstreet Journal, The Guardian and many more. He received the Austrian State Scholarship for Fine Art Photography in 2024.
Rosa Lacavalla (b. 1993) is an Italian photographer and visual artist based in Bologna. She holds a BA in Art Graphic and an MA in Photography from the Academy of Fine Arts Bologna, along with one-year studies in the BA in Photography program at Coventry University, UK, and an internship with the collective Cesura. Her work has been featured in several printed and online publications, and exhibited in festivals, collective and solo shows in Italy and abroad. Since 2023 she's been part of the PhMuseum's team as an Editorial, Production and Education Assistant.
Lacavalla's visual narratives unfold as transformative journeys – whether it is a personal quest for emotional healing or an exploration of cultural intersections and migrations. Navigating the complexities of the human experience, her works invite viewers to reflect on the intricate paths of healing, transformation, and the blurred boundaries between reality and dream.
Chloé Azzopardi is a French transdisciplinary artist living on an island on the
outskirts of Paris.
Her research revolves around ecology, new technologies and the construction of post-capitalocene imaginaries. She was an artist-in-residence at Villa Pérochon under the mentorship of Joan Fontcuberta. In 2025, she began a residency in regenerative design at Fondation Martell. Her work has been presented internationally in numerous festivals, galleries, and museums like Paris Photo, Rencontres d’Arles and Photo Élysée.
In 2024, she was invited by Sigma to present a large-scale exhibition combining multiple projects in Aranya and Shanghai. In 2027, she will present a solo exhibition at the Braunschweig Museum für Photographie. Supported by Fondation des Artistes for her project Tigre jaune sur fond bleu (2025), Azzopardi has received several awards and grants, including the CNAP support for contemporary documentary photography (2025).
Her first book, Non Technological Devices, will be published by Witty Books in 2026.

Thalles Piaget (*1996) is a human being - not an artificial intelligence - born in Brazil and living in Biel/Bienne - CH. Essentially vagabond, Thalles is inspired by readings, walks, and reflections. Capturing a moment that doesn’t truly exist, trying to transform the ordinary into a dreamlike experience. Its artistic approach is at the border of dreams, science, and absurdity. Wandering, guided by the moment, playing with its non-existence.
“In my work, I aim to open a window to a dreamlike digital universe composed of surfaces, reflections, and light, free from its commercial intent yet infused with a poetic perspective on the machinery’s materials. In my photographs and installations, I want to explore and question the possibilities of our digital images and their inflationary use in our daily lives. While using the medium of photography, my aim is not to document specific scenes or compositions, but rather to seek what is between the subject and the camera and to capture the moments in between. Photography serves as a fundamental tool in my creative work, yet paradoxically, it is the medium with which I maintain the most critical relationship.”
Milena Soporowska is a visual artist based in Poland. Her work explores, among other things, the intertwining of everyday life with magic and the occult, questioning the concept of home as a safe, familiar haven. She is interested in the combination of alternative medicine and psychoanalysis, and the overlap between Christianity, esotericism and folk spirituality.She graduated in Art History, presenting her master's thesis on the influence of spiritualistic and mediumistic photography on art in the light of Freud's category of unheimlich. She also studied photography, museology and psychotronics. Moreover, Milena is a graduate of the Sputnik Photos mentoring programme.Read more
Eslam Abd El Salam is a visual artist based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. His work focuses on walking as a pedagogical practice and is centered around the body: the body in motion, in contact with nature, and in the presence of other bodies.
Through the mediums of analogue photography, Polaroids, text, moving image, and mixed media, Eslam considers notions of synchronicity, specifically in relation to friendship and serendipitous encounters with others. Other recurring themes in his work include family archives, time, and displacement. He is keen to visually find the common thread between the personal and collective within his artistic practice.
Originally from Cairo, Egypt, and based in Belfast since 2022, Eslam's journey to Ireland began in March 2019 as an artist-in-residence at The Curfew Tower in Cushendall. His work has been exhibited internationally in Finland, France, Latvia, Egypt, and the UK. Most recently, he has worked with Kunstverein Aughrim on developing a long-term photographic and installation project called Can You See with Your Heart? that was exhibited during Craic in the Granite Music & Arts Festival on the 27th of June 2025.
Lucija Rosc (b. 1995) is a visual artist based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Rosc graduated in photography from the Faculty of Applied Sciences VIST in Ljubljana in 2018 and earned her master’s degree in Visual Communication Design, with a focus on photography, with special honors from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (ALUO) in 2022. Rosc received the UL ALUO Prešeren Award and was a nominee for the 2024 OHO Award, Slovenia's premier national recognition for young visual artists. Rosc's art practice combines an investigative approach with play, drawing inspiration from her childhood memories, family archives, and the environment in which she grew up. She has held numerous solo exhibitions, with her work featured in exhibitions across Europe and the USA. Additionally, Rosc's work has been showcased at prestigious contemporary photography fairs, including Unseen Amsterdam, Photo Basel, Viennacontemporary art fair and the Art Salon Zürich, among others.

Salvatore Vitale (b. 1986, Palermo, Italy) is a Swiss-based artist, director, and professor whose work explores the complexity of contemporary societies. Using expanded and speculative storytelling through mixed media techniques, he focuses on the politics of systems that regulate modernity and the impact of technological transformations.
Vitale is the Artistic Director of EXPOSED Torino Foto Festival and FUTURES Photography, both international platforms dedicated to contemporary photography. He also serves as a Professor at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where he leads the Transmedia Storytelling Programme. Previously, he was the co-founder and editor-in-chief of YET magazine, an international photography publication.
Vitale’s work has received international awards. It is featured in several public and private collections and has been widely exhibited in museums and at festivals worldwide.
Ángel Luis González Fernández is a designer, artist, and curator supporting engaging visual arts practices, winner of Business to Arts David Manley Emerging Entrepreneur Awards 2011.
His work manifests through PhotoIreland, which he founded in 2010 to stimulate a critical dialogue on Photography. He devises curatorial projects placing conversations in the public realm around visual culture, critical thinking. These include events (PhotoIreland Festival, Halftone Print Fair, arts residency How to Flatten a Mountain, and New Irish Works), a cultural hub (The Library Project: Ireland’s Art bookshop, host to a unique resource library of photobooks and a productive arts programme), publishing projects that distribute inexpensive access to local practices, research projects (Critical Academy: examining contemporary art practices). He works collaboratively with a growing network of organisations, noticeably through ambitious Creative Europe partnerships.
During the Summer 2020 lockdown he launched the critical publication OVER Journal, now distributed globally. He received the Arts Council of Ireland’s Visual Arts Bursary to deepen research on the broad historical and specific artistic context of Photography in Ireland, to curate an ambitious survey exhibition in PhotoIreland Festival 2022 and to publish a series of publications on the matter. He regularly contributes to publications such as the forthcoming The Routledge Companion to Global Photographies, edited by Lucy Soutter, Duncan Wooldridge.
