Leonie Pondevie

Born in Angers in 1996, Léonie Pondevie graduated from the École européenne supérieure d'art de Bretagne in Lorient in 2020. A photographer and visual artist, she is a member of the Collectif Nouveau Document. Her work, which combines photography, writing and installation, focuses on the human impact on territories. She develops her projects as part of creative residencies in France, notably in Brittany, Gironde and Normandy. In 2020, she was awarded a 5 étoiles residency by Stimultania, during which she produced a major work on the relationship between humans and the Rhône river, marking a turning point in her photographic work.  In 2021, Léonie Pondevie took part in the project Extraction: Art on the edge of the abyss, where she presented her research on mining through two exhibitions, at the University of Wyoming (Laramie) and New Mexico Highlands University (Las Vegas). Her work has been the subject of several solo and group exhibitions in France. In 2022 and 2023 respectively, Léonie Pondevie joined the collections of the FRAC Bretagne and the Artothèque de Strasbourg. Since then, she has been pursuing research into coastal erosion and climate change.
