Futures stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and strongly condemns Russia's unprecedented military aggression in a country that we as a platform maintain close ties with. The ongoing, unjustifiable actions are a threat to the lives of innocent individuals and to the European and global stability. Ukraine's invasion is a declaration of war on democracy. Even though a post will never be able to fully address the sheer complexities and consequences of war, displacement, and other forms of oppression, we want to express our support to those affected by this senseless war.
As a Europe-based photography platform, Futures brings together the global photography community to support and nurture the professional development of emerging artists across the world and strive to add long-term value by empowerment. In this crisis, we are particularly thinking of the Ukrainian artists among us. This war affects them more than we will ever understand, and therefore affects us as a community. We must stand together to acknowledge the severity of the situation and are reaching out to provide aid to those in need.
