Helene Bellenger

Hélène Bellenger is a French photographer and iconographer who lives and works between Marseille and Paris. After studying law and art history, she specialised in contemporary photography. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d'Arles, the visual photographer is developing a body of work that samples and reappropriates images from Western visual culture. 

Since 2017, her work has been presented by Agnès B, the 62nd Salon de Montrouge, the Binôme, Younique and Milin galleries, the Luma Foundation, La Villette, the Circulation(s) Festival, the Geneva Centre of Photography (Switzerland), the Nicéphore Niépce Museum, the Frac Champagne-Ardenne, the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art (China). In 2021, Hélène Bellenger is the winner of the Eurazeo research and creation grant and the Drac Paca creation grant for her current project Bianco Ordinario. In 2023 and 2024, she took part in a number of group exhibitions based on her Bianco Ordinario project. Some of this work entered the MUCEM collections in 2023. In 2024, the artist is the winner of the Research and Creation Fund of the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), enabling her to pursue the second part of her Bianco Ordinario project.
